Dr. Randolph Sturrup



Dr. Randolph Sturrup is a native of Nassau, Bahamas.  He is the only son of Randolph Joseph and Mae Lillian Sturrup.  After immigrating to the United States, he briefly attended Dorsey Junior High School in Miami, Florida.  The following year, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he graduated from Boys High School.


Dr. Sturrup received his degree in mathematics from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.  After college, he did post graduate studies in bio-chemistry at Columbia University in the City of New York.


Dr. Sturrup is a graduate of Howard University where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.  After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force and was assigned to Travis Air Force Base as a post graduate dental intern.  Dr. Sturrup's first official tour of duty after his internship was Ellington Air Force Base in Texas.  He had the opportunity to know and treat many of the original astronauts during the Apollo program.


Dr. Sturrup served a tour of duty in Southeast Asia.  During this assignment he was able to travel throughout Southeast Asia and Australia.  After Vietnam, he was assigned to the Strategic Air Command at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.  At Ramstein, he was promoted to Major.


At the conclusion of his military career, Dr. Sturrup entered Indiana University School of Dentistry where he received his Masters of Science Degree in Orthodontics.  Presently, Dr. Sturrup in private practice in Tyler and Longview, Texas.


Dr. Sturrup and his wife Juanita have four children; Susan (teacher), Linda (dentist), Denise (MBA in Finance), and Randolph David (television producer).


His hobbies include music and reading (especially Philosophy). He has authored four books on Poetic Prose and is a licensed private pilot.
